Show Your Skin Some Lovin'

Figuring out a skin care routine that works for you is absolutely essential, especially during the winter time. I can’t emphasize how important it is for everyone (girls AND boys) to take care of their skin.

Below, you can find a list of some of my favorite products that I use on a daily basis. Ever since I’ve paid more attention to my skin care routine, and I’ve realized what works best for me, I always feel as if I look so much better.

*Note - not all skin types are the same, so please proceed with caution when trying something new to you. Always start with a small dab to see how skin reacts!!*

  • Exfoliate your lips! I can’t emphasize this enough! I feel like this is the most underrated process in the beauty routine. I hardly hear people talking about it! No one wants to kiss lips that haven’t been taken care of. Flaky lips are NOT a look.
That being said, my favorite lip exfoliator is from e.l.f cosmetics. Remember to follow up the exfoliation with any chapstick of your choice!

  • Next, let’s talk cleansers. My recommendation comes from pixi beauty - a brand you can find at your local Target store. I have the rose cream one, and it’s the most gentle, relaxing thing ever. Once I get out of the shower, I immediately rub this on, rinse, and move on to the next step in my routine. This cleanser literally feels like a cloud is sitting on my face. My skin’s kind of sensitive, and it hates harsh chemicals, so stumbling upon this was a blessing.

  • For the longest time, I never understood the point of using a toner until I finally started to use one. A toner cleans up your skin. Any bacteria/dirt left behind, a good toner goes in there and gets that junk out. Since I’m obviously a pixi beauty fan girl, my toner is from them once again. Grab a cotton ball, dab some on there, and give your skin a good pat down!

  • I’ve had a tough battle finding the perfect moisturizer for myself, but I came across the Moisture Surge from Clinique thanks to a mini gift bag I had received, and I fell in love! Again, this moisturizer was so nourishing for my skin. The name isn’t a lie - it’s seriously so hydrating, and so relieving.

  • Not exactly skin care related, but to all my make-up lovers - you already know to always wash your face before going to sleep. Neutrogena used to be my go-to choice for makeup wipes, but the chemicals are way too harsh for me, and I always felt like my skin was burning! Recently, I discovered Coconut infused make-up wipes at the Daiso Japanese store in Northridge. They also have Aloe Vera ones, too! I’d definitely recommend finding a location nearest to you and trying these out.

I love learning about new products and trying ones out.
